Please help identify this song about suicide

I heard it on the radio yesterday. It sounded a lot like Jackson Browne, but I can’t be completely certain it was him, and nothing’s jumping out from a quick scan of his discography on Wikipedia.

The first verse centers on a guy on a ledge, or the top of a building, thinking about jumping, and when asked why he’s doing it he says something like “it’s because of everything.”

And it’s not “The Ledge” by the Replacements, nor is it “Jumper” by Third Eye Blind. It’s slower, more acoustic, and, well, more Jackson Browne-y.

Googling the phrase “it’s because of everything” isn’t helping, and I might not even have that phrase correct.

Any ideas?

Dawes - A Little Bit of Everything

Could it be Song For Adam by Jackson Browne? Youtube link.

It’s Dawes. Thanks, Trom!

On a second listen, it doesn’t sound as much like Jackson Browne as I remembered. Maybe it was the piano. But, yeah, that’s definitely the song.

Check out the studio version. It has an actual piano, not a keyboard.

One. Minute.

We’re good at this.
