Please help identify this TV series.

I recently (last 5 years or so) watched a series where, in the last episodes, the male protagonist (older and in law enforcement) buys a camper and goes off to live happily ever after with his lady friend.

I thought it was A Touch of Frost; however I just watched the last episode today and that was not how it ended.

It would not have been first run since I never I never was anything first run.

Thank you for you help

Was it definitely a British series?

“Lewis” (the sequel series to Inspector Morse), perhaps? In the last episodes, Lewis was planning a long vacation in the undeveloped areas of NZ.

I just double checked Lewis did not end with a camper.

I do not think the couple in the series I am trying to recall knew each other as long as Lewis and Dr. Hobson did.

I think it was a British show. West Wing and House of Cards are the only American series I can recall watching for years.

Wait - you never watched the original British House of Cards? Well worth it. On Netflix.

Jonathon Creek?

I absolutely have watched the original British House of Cards. It was wonderful. I prefer it to the remake. Ian Richardson is one on my favorite actors.
On a tangential note I seem to really appreciate actors last named Richardson; I also like Ralph. (I know they have both left the coil; but I still like them in my present tense.:D)

Reading the blurb on Wiki tells me I want to see this. I am however at the mercy of my local library (USA) and the size of my wallet. I do not have any streaming service on a regular basis. I do not have internet on a regular basis.

I haven’t seen it in a while. I have directv, and they have shown it on bbc/America and the ovation channel.

Sorry I should have also mentioned I do not have TV. No cable, no antenna, and no TV. I watch all DVDs on my computer.

Jonathan Creek did not have any camper scene. He’s been happily married in the last few episodes, stretching about seven or so years in broadcast time. No vacations in there anywhere.
