Please help me find these glasses

It was a toss-up whether this belonged in IMHO or Cafe Society, so please feel free to move if I made the wrong choice. Thanks!

So…I’m going to Comic Con again this year. The spouse has been planning all year to dress up–he’s going to be The Comedian from “Watchmen,” and he’s got a really cool costume. He’s been trying to get me to dress up too, but I’ve been resisting because there wasn’t really anything I wanted to dress up as that I didn’t think would look stupid.

Then I saw this cute little cartoon of a girl dressed up as The Doctor–several different versions of him!–and thought, “Hey, I could do that!” So I’m going to be the result of a horrific multi-TARDIS collision in the timeways, combining bits of Ten, Eleven, and Four together in what I hope will be a fun costume. Call me “Doctor Huh?”

This is where you guys and your legendary ability to find things come in. I’m looking for some Ten-style “brainy specs.” Hereand hereare a couple of pictures of Ten wearing them.

I’ve found several pairs on eBay that are close (and that will probably work fine if I can’t find anything better) but the temples are almost always too big. As you can see in the pics, Ten’s temples are very narrow. The glasses I want should:

  • be brown tortoiseshell
  • be rectangular
  • have narrow temples
  • have clear glass lenses
  • have lenses that aren’t too short top to bottom (I’m not sure what the exact height is, but by trial and error it looks like around 35-45mm)
  • not be prohibitively expensive (I’d be willing to pay up to about $30 for a perfect pair but probably not more than that. Would prefer to keep it under $15).

The right type of reading glasses would probably work, as I could just pop the lenses out, but so far the ones I’ve found have all been too short top to bottom.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

For $39, maybe these?

The glasses you’re after were originally ID’d as Zenni Optical Acetate Full-Rim Frame #807925, but it seems they don’t have them anymore.

Ninja’d and corrected all at the same time.

Wesley Clark, thank you, thank you!

I found a pair there that will be absolutely perfect! (style #249125 in the men’s section…I was vacillating between that and #621725, but I think either one would be fine).

Thanks again! Those are way better than anything I’ve found so far (at least at anything approximating my price range).

(Thanks to you too, 6ImpossibleThingsB4Breakfast–I’d actually found those before and they’re quite nice as well, but the temples are a bit wide.)

I just have to say that all I did was read the thread title and my immediate thought was “I bet this is asking about Ten’s glasses…”

I had been looking for the same pair myself back in 2008 to use as my regular prescription glasses, and what I had found in an interview with the costume designer was that those exact glasses were custom and could not be purchased. They were definitely **not **made by Zenni. The combination of the large bridge with thinner frames & temples made it difficult to find an exact match. (I ended up getting a pair by Paul Smith that were pretty close except with a smaller bridge.)

These are kinda close: http://www.eyebuydirect.com/plastic-eyeglasses-ht9204-black-p-8907.html
They’re black, but only $6.95

The one you found from Zenni #621725 is also close.
