Please help me ID this chick action flick of which I only saw the trailer

It shows three overdressed hotties chatting about men, and then the camera pans back and they’re about to fight a charging martial-arts army, with utter confidence of victory. I saw the trailer several years back, no doubt it’s out on DVD by now.

The only thing that comes to mind is one of the Charlie’s Angels movies.

No, I saw those.

DOA: Dead or Alive?

Could be . . . did the action chicks in DOA talk in a, you know, self-kidding way? Like they’re doing a conscious parody of the genre? Or did they play it straight?

Could also be D.E.B.S., although I haven’t seen it to be sure.

I don’t think the women in D.E.B.S. would be chatting about men…

I haven’t seen it either, but I’ve heard the heroines are teenagers; in the trailer I’m talking about, the women were in their 20s.

Are you sure it’s a movie? It sounds almost like the TV show “She Spies” (well, the first season, of that show. Then they got serious and lost the ninjas.)

Yes. I saw the trailer in a theater.

These days they also show ads for upcoming TV series in theaters, at least in my neck of the woods… damn them.

(-although I might possibly feel marginally better diposed toward them if I knew whether my vague recollection of that one briefly glimpsed ad for a cheerleader-themed comedy last summer was for a movie or a cable show. Unlikely, but possible.)

Really sounds like the DOA trailer I saw.

This is a trailer for the DOA movie, may not be the exact trailer.
Looks pretty much like what you say.
Don’t really remember this one coming out…

It wasn’t released very widely. It came out about 3 or 4 months ago, though.

Here you go.

You sure? IMDB says the release date is June 07.

That’s it! Thanx!

Now if I could just find it somewhere . . . I asked at the local Blockbuster and they don’t have it.

I don’t know if I’d see it in the theatre, but it looks like a fun rent. “Babes with blades” is often entertaining.

I am actually one of the 23 people on earth who have seen it… and was pleasantly surprised.
It really doesn’t take itself seriously and really has that DOA vibe to it.
Not a classic (not by a long shot) but nonetheless one of the best movies after a videogame.

SO is IMDB wrong? It has the movie release date as June 2007. In other parts of the world it has been released. I find it strange that it wouldn’t be on DVD yet if it was released here.
