Please help me recall this song's similar sounding rock melody.

I *know *I’ve heard this melody or something very close before. It’s a very well known rock song. Right on the tip of my tongue. I’m stuck, and it’s bugging me now.

Ignore the words. What classic rock song does this melody and beat make you think of?

Prisoner of the Highway. charted 6th in 1984 I’ve never heard Ronnie Milsap rock out like this before.

Not that close but maybe Allman Brothers “Midnight Rider”?

The backup singers saying "highway"reminded me of the refrain in Pure Prairie League’s Two Lane Highway

The organ melody reminds me of Genesis - That’s All.

Before the drums come in, there seems to be a superficial resemblance to Telegraph Road, however that disappears pretty much completely

The verse vaguely calls to mind “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, and even more vaguely “Turn the Page” by Bob Seger

Smuggler’s Blues?

thank you. that is the song I was trying to recall. Haven’t heard it in years.

the beat and melody are similar to Prisoner. Enough that it left me thinking I’d heard that before. The lyrics are sung very tersely, and clipped too. Giving a certain rhythm. Both are great songs.
