Before I go bonkers, can anyone help with a film question?

The film was called, I believe ‘Dream House’ or ‘Dreamhouse’, and here in the UK showed as the support movie to something like Friday 13th, or Evil Dead.

Must be 15-20 years ago now.

Scary film about a family moving into a new property. Wife sees images of brutal murders/blood/general nastiness. They call in an exorcist-type guy. Nothing apparently wrong. The problem is, they’re thinking they’re seeing scenes from the houses past, but in reality ther’re seeing scenes from the future.

The most obvious thing to remember is the family’s little girl riding around the front garden on a tricycle.

In the end, the mother gets into the family car, and on the passneger seat is a copy of a newspaper telling of a mass-murderer escaped. The murderer then reaches from behind and cuts her throat, the rest of the family having beeen similarly slain.

UK film, so probably a long shot.

The plot sounds vaguely familiar but the details don’t ring a bell.

You can search http://www.imdb.com for partial titles, though ‘house’ didn’t reveal much.

You sure it was British? Any idea who was in it?

I looked at imdb too – the words “dream” and “house” didn’t bring up anything that matched your plot.

It sounds like my kind of movie – but since you’ve given away the ending, I guess the rest of us don’t need to bother watching it even if we’d be so lucky as to find it!!

Just kidding.

I’m keeping a watch on this thread to see if anyone knows the answer. It does sound good, like a Twilight Zone episode (although TZ was kinda like the TV Superman, nobody died).
