Please honor the damned warranty!

I bought an LG phone from Virgin Mobile in July. The on/off button has chosen to stop working. (I’m new to smart phones and assume that they have some agency, which is how they are smart) I can get into it if I’m called or unplug the power cable, and called customer service about getting a replacement phone under warranty I was told I needed to call back from a different phone so they could remotely diagnose the problem. I told him that this was my only phone and couldn’t do that, and asked how that would diagnose a faulty switch. He could not explain anything nor escalate the call, showing that real winners are on the weekend shifts the world over. e

I’ll try again today. If that doesn’t work I’ll try for Richard Branson 's assistant, or her assistant who talks to cranks. Years of telemarketing to upper management taught me things.
