I think his name is John Bolger.

At first glance at the top photo on his IMDb page, John Bolger looks like “Grandpa Jim” and his age is right, but if you look at the additional photos on the page, you can see it’s not him. But I appreciate your taking the time to research this!

I’ve bookmarked them both 'cause they’re full of interesting info and I’ll consult them in future before I post another question like this here at the Dope. Unfortunately, neither site has any info on Grampy Jim. I’m grateful to you for taking the time to suggest where to look.

You know, Wendell Wagner, I thought the very same thing (I saw the AdWeek entry before I posted here, which of course you couldn’t have known) but, alas, a little more investigation showed that Slattery provided only the voice. He’s not Grandad Jim. I’m afraid that Acsenray is right.

If you Google Image search John Bolger the first several look exactly like him. Not sure why you don’t think that’s him.

Don’t feel bad Waltzes with Cacti, there are two different John Bolgers.
John Michael Bolger is the one who was linked by Accidental Martyr.
My favorite John Bolger doesn’t have a good picture on his IMDB page, but can be seen here and in many of the pictures from the Google image search.
The second John Bolger, who also happens to be the great-nephew of Ray Bolger from The Wizard of Oz, is the one who appears in the commercial.
As a major fan of that John Bolger, I just had to set the record straight.

So Accidental Martyr is having difficulty differentiating between people who share the same first and last name. I don’t normally like to lob this kind of accusation around, but I can’t help but think that we have on our humble little message board a TERMINATOR sent back in time to kill the future leader of the Resistance.
