Please identify this (nazi-fixated?) book...

The identification of ‘Motel of Mysteries’ in another thread reminded me of another book which my dad had in the 80s, at the same time as MoM.

It was largely pictorial, and featured a lot of vast comic strip style landscapes with old aeroplanes (first half of the twentieth century).

It had a fair few nazis in it - I remember a mock-up of a brochure for zeppelin travel, with the crew as skeletons dressed in old German flight-steward outfits, and in the centre of the book was a photographic spread ‘advertising’ cheesy nazi memorabilia including swastika lunchboxes, and I think a swastika American football.

Ring any bells?

Zany Afternoons by Bruce McCall. Most of this art was originally featured in National Lampoon magazine and he collected it in this book.

Thanks ever so, Little Nemo - I thought it was probably American.

The work was done in America but McCall himself is Canadian.

I loved the “Zeppelin shoot” with the Austro-Hungarians!
