Last night I caught the tail-end of a song on the radio (88.3, NW Arkansas) that I enjoyed, but afterwards the DJ didn’t give any information about the musician or song title. Here are a couple of the lines that I remembered:
“as the water grows cold around her legs/Father is in the study, watching”
and
“she says she will write to me/but I know she won’t write to me”
Haven’t heard it m’self, but I think these are the lyrics you heard:
“My Family”
Mother’s smoking pot
In the bathroom
I can hear her butt
Squeaking on the tub
As the water grows cold
Around her legs
And father
Is in the study
Watching a vague
Lesbian scene
Don’t go in
He gets to me
Planting foot prints
Where I hope
I’ll never be
da da da da da
And sister phones to say
She isn’t coming home
She says she’ll write to me
But I know
She won’t write to me
da da da da da
Thanks everyone…that’s the song, even if I didn’t catch the lyrics correctly the first time.
smacks forehead Google search…duh…Google is usually my first reference material for anything, but it slipped my mind in this case. I blame it on the heat.
