I was popping in to say what beowulff said. Wolf spiders. We’ve frequently seen these around here. This reminds me of how my daughter dealt with one…

Well, apparently my timing is impeccable… Now my post in the other thread makes absolutely no sense. For a couple of minutes, I thought I was going insane. Guess that should teach me to pay attention for zombie threads.

I moved your post over here, just to add to the confusion.

That’s absolutely hilarious - thanks for posting it.

Don’t freak out about your spider, OP (you can use a cup + piece of cardboard to move it) and welcome to our message boards

Best thread title/OP user name combo so far today!

The large spiders can deliver a lot of venom and that means a nasty sting where the fangs enter, and it could turn into nasty wound or inflammation…

The spider has been into the rotting flesh of its insects and there may well be nasty bacteria on its outside.

Of course, few spiders rove about looking for humans to attack and in North America, few people will suffer more than a mild, pinpoint itching when bitten by the rare hostile spider. The (only?)
two spiders in North America that are actually a threat are the Black Widow and Brown Recluse spiders:http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/mobileart.asp?articlekey=90430
