Bob Rivers and Twisted Radio is always interesting for modern parodies.
I Am Santa Claus (to the tune of Black Sabbath’s Ironman) cracks me up every time.

Uneasy Rider [And the later Uneasy Rider '88] was Charlie Daniels.
I’m puzzed by your inclusion of the Grateful Dead, though.
Brand New Key was actually Melanie.
anything by Heywood Banks
a great deal of the stuff put out by the Bob and Tom radio program
Existential Blues, by Tom “T Bone” Stankus
and the other day I heard a beautiful parody of “Winter Wonderland” called “Walkin’ Round in Women’s Underwear”. Sounded like DaVinci’s Notebook, but the announcer didn’t say.
supervenusfreak has had that on WinAMP for the last three weeks. It’s Bob Rivers.
That and “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas”. I cannot claim any responsibility or blame for his taste in Christmas music…
There’s a little known guy who’s really funny. Wally Pleasant. Just the titles crack me up. “How I Got Lost On The Road Less Traveled But Then Got Instant Karma On I-96” and “The Day Ted Nugent Killed all the Animals.” But I think my favorite is “Rumble At The Karaoke Bar.”
There’s an experimental theater troupe at UH Manoa who did a hilarious dance to that song. Lots of fun.
Kinko the Kid Loving Clown (A really warped song–I think it was about John Wayne Gacy.)
“Kinko, Kinko, the kid loving clown
If the kids just love me back I’ll never wear a frown!”
And one song I used to hear was called “Talk Dirty to the Animals”
“Say f*** you to mister bunny
P*ss off to mister fox
Tell mister chicken
To suck my dick 'n
Give him chicken pox”
Maybe those were on Dr. Demento too.
Let’s Talk Dirty to the Animals was Gilda Radner. A classic!
This one is going to get me beat up some day but every now and then I’ll find myself singing “Springtime for Hitler.” It’s just a catchy little showtune.
I vass born in Dusseldorf
und dat is vhy dey call me Rolf!
The Producers is classic.
My coding, on the other hand…
Ok, lampooning is a bull’s cheek word describing this. It was more like a “humorous tribute”, as some of the lyrics are very funny, more than an average song of the genres evoke.
Does anyone remember Jim Stafford?
I Don’t Like Spiders and Snakes and My Girl Bill?
Speaking of Outkast and Hey Ya, has anyone heard Roses from The Love Below* The chorus goes:
I know you like to think your shit don’t stink
But lean a little bit closer
See that roses really smell like
boo boo.*
Then there are some of my favorite more or less recent funny songs. Harvey Danger’s Flagpole Sitta and The Bloodhound Gang’s * Bad Touch*
Ooh, Jim Stafford! I almost forgot about him. Remember Swamp Witch, too?
That is spelndid! I think the only regrettable thing is that more people these days never heard of The Pirates of Penzance, let alone the Major-General’s song (cf. Opera a la Carte ).
I can’t believe nobody mentioned *The Rodeo Song *:
Well, it’s forty below, but I don’t give a fck
Gotta heater in the truck and I’m off to the rodeo.
It’s allemana left and allemana right, get off the stage
You Godamn goof, you know
You piss me off, you fuckin’ jerk
You get on my nerves …
And so on …
