Please pass the morphine

Ow. Ow! OW! OW! OW!

Just had three wisdom teeth pulled. (The fourth one is impacted - I can only imagine what joy that will be.) Most of my face is still frozen, but already my head feels like someone gave it a good smack with a 2x8. I don’t want to think about what it’s going to feel like in a couple hours, but oddly I can’t seem to think of much else.

I suppose it’s not a good idea to double up the dose on these Tylenol 3’s?
:frowning:

Got 2 of mine pulled early in August. I slept for two days after that. My dentist gave me hydrocodone. Apparently I didn’t react to well to it. I felt like throwing up after I took it.

The pain wears off in a few days as does the constant taste of blood. What ended up really bothering me afterwards was the lack of teeth where they were before. My tongue still searches for them. Also trying to get food out of the sockets. I spent an hour today trying to dig out a piece of my granola bar.

I’d suggest taking Tylenol PM instead. That way you can sleep through the worst of it.

Ah, but I’m supposed to sit up for 4 hours. No lying down. chuckles Worried I’ll choke to death on blood? Or maybe that the slight increase in blood pressure in the mouth when reclined will dislodge the clots? Not sure. Anyways, I’m not feeling inclined to sleep just now anyways.

Isn’t it about time someone showed up with a horror story of an impacted wisdom tooth extraction gone awry?

Nope, no morphine here.

Would you care for some Avinza?
