PLEASE READ! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!

This time I really need help too. This is important!
Ok, I have a History final coming up. This is a big one, since it’s an Honor’s course. The assignment for the final is to find somebody who has first hand experience and witnessed something historically significant.
So is there any posters who is a war vet and would like to share their experiences? Anybody who protested the war? These are just two specific examples, there’s about a billion things that is acceptable as long as it’s first hand knowledge. I really need help…I can’t seem to find anybody I know personally and time is RUNNING out.
So please, if you have a story you don’t mind sharing, contact me either in this thread OR email me at pepperlandgirl@yahoo.com
Thank you again.

I watched the last episode of the Brady Bunch.

I saw Holland beat Germany 2 to 1 in the 1988 European Championships semi-finals. OK, so it was on TV. OK, so I was slightly intoxicated. But it was still historic

I was 3 years old when JFK died, and I think I remember the TV being on all day, and my mother being very sad.

When you think about it, it would be tougher to find anyone who hasn’t been a participant in world history. Study Maculay’s “great man” theory of history, reverse it, and interview anyone generous enough to give you their time.

Your deep sea diving suit is ready, me brave lad.

I had sex with a hearing girl.

While all these are helpful (Pick up on sarcasm) they are not what I’m looking for.
If you want to talk about when JFK died, you must be one of the people STANDING ON THE CURB of the street at the parade…see? Want to talk about the last episode of the Brady Bunch? You must be working on the show somehow. These have to be first hand, personal “I was there” experiences.

ROFL! You say that as if it actually MEANS something!

Pepperlandgirl…this forum is for mundane and pointless stuff. Take it from the king of mundane & pointless…( waving thumb at self ) your asking for it by posting a thread like this. The jokes will probably only get worse.

If it is that important to you maybe you should try general questions. Those bastards are really serious over there.

I attended Woodstock 99 and stayed until the firey, bitter end.

Kennedy from MTV called me sassy. I’m serious.

E-mail me if you want more, I owe board members anything for the turn out I’m getting with my psych survey.

Oh yeah? Woopty-shit! I saw the special episode where everyone on Gilligan’s Island got rescued!!! So HA!

That maryann was a hottie wasn’t she?

I saw the last episode of MASH.

I was at my own birth. At some point I keep expecting that moment to become historically significant.

Well, honey just tastes better when it comes from a bear’s head.

I was there on January 1, 2000, and survived the Y2K scare.

Inconceivable? I don’t think that word means what you think it does.

pepperlandgirl, you might want to take a trip to a local nursing home. My mother works in one, I practically grew up there. I remember quite a few residents with stories of escaping Germany during the War and stuff like that. Worth a shot.

Try not to have a good time…this is supposed to be educational.

Well, since psycat gave you one serious suggestion, I’ll give you another. Get in touch with your local American Legion or VFW chapter. They have loads of people who would be thrilled to discuss at great length their first-hand experiences in war.

I understand all the words, they just don’t make sense together like that.

Given that you are unlikely to find anyone you know personally here in the time available, you clearly not planning to stick to your assignment - so why not cheat a little bit more and just miss out the personal interaction section. Go to the library read a history book (with relatively recent events) and lift something from there.

p.s. Include is/are, use of 's rant here.

I didn’t notice Maryann too much, but the Professor was purdy cute.

She didn’t say that she needed to personally know the person; I don’t see what would be wrong with interviewing them online.

Sorry, though. I don’t have anything to contribute. I missed all of the important goings-on of the last 19 years.

I would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!
