Can someone recommend an SFTP client? Google brings up plenty of choices, but I am leery of signing on to an unknown program and even more reluctant to install one.
PuTTY is pretty much the standard among the geek ranks. I’ve also had good results with FileZilla and WinSCP
I asked the same question a few months ago and settled on using WinSCP which I like.
I use WinSCP also. PuTTY is the standard at work, and the installation package comes with WinSCP. I use PuTTY only rarely, WinSCP all the time.
I use PuTTY’s version fo SFTP and SCP.
Recently one of my Oracle databases had weird error messages in the alert.log. One of my coworkers started using WinSCP and it was causing the errors in the middle of the night when my coworker wasn’t even there. I told her to shut down WinSCP before leaving work and all is well now.
Seconding PuTTY and WinSCP. I’ve used both, both work well.
I installed Win-SCP and briefly tested it. It works like a charm. Thanks to all who recommended it.
