Recommend a good free FTP client program?

Can any dopers out there recommend a good, and most importantly, free windows-based ftp program?

I need to ftp files from the host machine at work to my home computer and I am getting tired of all the typing in the plain ol’ text ftp. I’m looking for something with a nice friendly windows interface where I can save settings, directory paths, etc. It doesn’t need to be fancy or anything. I use Reflection FTP Client at work so I am looking for something along that line only, ya know, at no cost to me personally.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

[sub]Having just bought my first-ever home PC, I’m pretty new to Windows XP, so if I am overlooking something really obvious (like if XP already has what I am looking for) please point it out quietly and I will slink away.[/sub]

Thanks

SmartFTP. I luv it.

For PC: I used the evaluation version of Rhinosoft’s “FTP Voyager.” It was nice and simple. I bought a licence for it eventually to get all its features. It’s great if you want the basics reliably.

For Mac: I use Interarchy. I LOVE it! I desperately wish they made a PC version. If you like the evaluation version, the licence is about $35 and well worth it.

Macintosh: Fetch is my favorite of the freebies. NetFinder is a little better if you’re willing to pay shareware.

PC: I downloaded CoffeeCup FTP for my girlfriend to use, not bad.

Winsock FTP is my choice.

That’s the light edition, btw, which is free.

I’ve always used WS-FTP.

WSFTP here, too.

Using it right now, in fact.

I only use a mac, and I use Transmit. It’s easy and in the shareware registration field that comes up when it’s opened they have clever little lines to tease the nonpurchaser.

Thanks for all the suggestions. You’ve given me a good list of options. Looks like I’ve got some web sites to check out.

SmartFTP has worked very well for me… I’d also reccomend Crystal FTP, although they’re starting to encourage use of a premium version.

I’ll throw in my vote for SmartFTP as well. I think I’ve been using it for the past 2-2.5 years, and I love it.

FTP Explorer has a nice graphical interface and is easy to use.

Bob

FTP Explorer: nice and simple.

I use CoffeeCup and have never had any problems with it. It seems pretty easy to use.

I use WS_FTP as well. – the LE version.

I use WSFTP, but it’s not that easy to use until you get used to it. CuteFTP is a good free one that is a little more user friendly.

nudder vote for WSFTP.

The OP is evil. I now will have a song stuck in my head until I can get home from work and crank it up. Twenty fucking five ta one Me gamblin days are done! I bet on a horse called a bottle a smoke and my horse won!

I use LeechFTP. Seems to work well enough and it’s free.
