So I’m watching “Eaten Alive” from my set of 50 horror movies on 5 DVD’s. I get down to what must be almost the end, and I hit a scratch on the DVD which knocks me out to the menu. The movie is all one chapter, so I can’t skip past the defect.
For those of you who might not recognize the title, this movie stars Neville Brand as Judd, a crazy hotel owner who likes to feed people to his pet crocodile. The movie also stars Mel Ferrer, Carolyn Jones, Stuart Whitmen, and Robert Englund. Good cast, but not a great movie.
I’ll post this and start a second post so that my next statements won’t show up on a mouse-over of the first post.
At the point where the DVD quits, a little girl is hanging from a fence while the crocodile waits below. A woman is trying to save the little girl. Judd is shaking the fence so that the girl will fall. The girl’s mother, seriously wounded, is trying to come to her daughter’s rescue. Another woman, girfriend of Buck (Robert Englund), has escaped and is hitching a ride, maybe to get help from the sheriff (Stuart Whitman).
So far, the crocodile has eaten alive 3 men, 1 woman, and a cute little dog.
Now what happens? There is no way I am going to pay money to see the end of this gross movie, but I surely would like to know how it ends.
Thanks a lot! amuseyourself.com has a few details wrong (there is only supposed to be one crocodile, not multiple alligators; Faye falls through a railing and lands downstairs rather than falling down the stairs; and Roy dies after the dog, not before), but I’m going to assume it has the ending correct. I like that ending anyhow.
