I was heading home from karaoke at 12:30 yesterday morning. When I was a few streets from my house, my car started acting funny. It wanted to be in the middle of the street instead of on the side. I force it to go straight, and pull up infront of my house. When I get out I hear a hissing sound. I’m thinking Dammit I have a flat tire and I just bought the tire back in January 2000. I wake up in the morning looking for my paperwork for the tire and road hazzard coverage and can’t find it. I complain about it to my friend who comes over and offers to try fix-a-flat I’m like Ok lets give it a shot. He dumps a whole can in and nothing we just hear it hiss out. We take the Tire off the car and there in the tread is this big peice of glass. I put the tire in the trunk and go to Sears where I bought it originally. They find my purchase from 2000 in the system and tell me the tire is covered under the warranty. I come back an hour later (already late for work) and they tell me the warranty is void because I used fix-a-flat. If I had not done a thing they would have been able to path the tire. They sell me a new tire that is supposed to be compatblewith the three good tires. I leave for work now almost an hour and a half late. I leave the lot and see the Chargin and ABS lights are on. AAA had told me the last time I needed a jump that my battery was going so I figuree ok the battery needs to be replaced thats why the charge light is lit and they must have knocked the ABS sensor around putting the tire on and I’ll take it back tomorrow to be fixed. So I get near work and notice my turn signal’s won’t flash. My hazard’s will but not turn signals. I park at work and stay there through lunch. I get off at 9 start the car and everything seems ok. It doesn’t start as quickly as it used to but this has been happening for a while. I watch the idiot lights go out, put her in drive and start to roll. Soon as I hit the Gas the Charger light comes on as well as the ABS light. I go about 5 feet and the Oil light comes on. I hit the brakes, put her in park and kill the engine. I then check my oil three times and it is fine. I put the hazzards on, go inside work and call AAA to be towed. I call home and my dad advises me not to take it to Sears but to take it where I bought the car. So now the car is sitting at the Dealer. Their service station opens in 7 hours I don’t know what is wrong with my car, but I don’t have alot of money to spend on repairs. I have no credit cards and don’t have enough for a downpayment on a new car if I wanted to go that route.
Please tell me this is a simple problem and won’t cost an arm and a leg to fix. My dad thinks it’s the car computer, the tow truck operator thinks it’s the alernator, and I think my car doesn’t like me.
