Omigod, all western civilzation will be lost and America has seen it’s last days if the terrorists get to us!!
What a frightened little wimp. It seems that those who have the least faith in their nation suggest the most radical solutions. I wonder, has this guy been more terrorized by the press and the Bush administration than the terrorists themselves? We will survive attacks from the outside. It’s the ones that might eminate from within the country, economic and propagandist, that we should worry most about.
Well, the article is simply an opinion piece, stating that Bush should use the neutron bomb on terrorist states before they destroy the USA by bombing the Boulder Dam and and wiping out NYC with anthrax in the water supply.
The piece is by one Wilson C. Lucom, who bills himself as “a former Assistant to U.S. Secretary of State Stentenius”. I spent a few minutes searching for the meaning of the Latin modifier “Stentenius” before I realized it might be someone’s name.
The closest I could find was E. R. Stettinius, Jr, FDR’s last Secretary of State. He and Lucom obviously had a very close working relationship.
Other references to this article (which can be had by Googling “Stentenius”, a word which exists nowhere in their database outside of Lucom’s references to his own biography) imply that it was published in 2001.
Perhaps one can forgive Mr. Lucom his hysteria, assuming of course, it was published after 9/11 of that year. We were all a little nuts back then.
The site that it’s quoted on, Warriors for Truth, has no information about who publishes the site. According to a WhoIs search, the domain is registered to MaxGo Marketing , although from the look of it, they registered the name on behalf of someone else. The Warriors site bills itslelf as a source of conservative news and information on internet gambling.
Given that this is the first I’ve heard of the Neutron Bomb plan since it was put forth three years ago, I would venture to say it does not represent the views of the mainstream right of America.
If the debates is wether that guy is a looney or a deranged maniac; then I think he´s both.
Besides reality is over here and he´s waaaay over there:
Huh!?, I mean, HUH!!??
Exageration or fruit cake, you tell me.
Yeah, except that a few months ago there was a huge power shortage in the East coast and I didn´t see the USA spiraling into oblivion.
I think he´s not getting recent reports.
Now, we enter into batshit insane territory; I fail to make the twisted logical contortion that says that nuking the (I suppose) ME to kingdom come will stop the “terrorist war”; I guess there would have to be a throughly cleansing so as to not leave any survivor who would be a bit pissed off about the whole affair.
Yeah, high approval ratings, Hail Bush the neutronizer!
How does it go? non sequitur?
So if nation X doesn´t have a strong military it means that it, by deffault supports terrorists?
That pretty much proves that the guy is missing some marbles
Who says so?, The U.S.A has all the right to defend itself, but I draw the line at pre-emptively nuking a good chunk of the world, just in case, ya know?
How humane, how very much compasionate! sentence 1 billion people to horrible radiation sickness and slow death and let God sort them out.
Hmmm… nope.
No shit!, terrorist, evil? who could have though it!; in any case, what a novel judiciary concept; condemn to death people that for the most part you don´t even know. No way to wrongfully sentence somebody, no sir.
6000?, as someone said: “Exageration or fruit cake, you tell me.”
Well, why bother with the trial in the first place then? Let those babies goooo!!!
And this is not an act of terrorism because…??
Well, what a relief!, all those, you know, non-terrorist in the other country (I´ve been told there are some of those still) will certainly understand his concerns over the welfare of US soldiers.
Can you spell global scale genocide?
The Lucome Plan is the most competent, efficient way of ending civilization as we know it… YMMV
Make that 405,399, pal. Do I have to cite myself again?
That is, perhaps the only half-coherent thing on the whole argument. Perhaps not WWIII, but ObL certainly salivates over acivilizations clash.
Oh, not this shit again; however, this indicates that this abherration is quite outdated…
Afghanis-what?
Just one last nugget
Hey you!, yes you, american voter, don´t.do.that, mmmmkay?
A quick scan gave me the impression the author is serious, but not really intelligent and not worthy of serious consideration.
The difficulty in using biological or chemical weapons lies in large-scale delivery of same. For example, delivering anthrax spores through a standard crop-dusting mechanism kills the spores. Dispersing biological or chemical weapons to large numbers of victims is very difficult.
Reeder, they weren’t just theory. We developed an enhanced radiation warhead for theater use, but never deployed it. One of the designs acquired by the PRC was for the W70 “neutron bomb”, or more properly Enhanced Radiation Weapon, and there are reports that China tested a warhead based on that design. See W70 at GlobalSecurity.org.
No, that would be an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) device. The neutron bomb is a very dirty nuclear bomb that doe limited physical damage, but releases huge amounts of radioactivity. The tag line when it was first developed was along the lines of “kills people, but leaves buildings standing.”
