Poem found in old bottle

Step Lightning

We are an eye in a cloud,
and speak in sighs and thunder.
We weave through a fog,
step down step lightning,
see in bright flashes,
sigh, and are torn asunder.

As a mist, as an endless mist,
these things we know are an endless mist.
Solid in the hand, ice in the river’s fist.
Held in our hands like light,
and like light, gone in bright flashes.
Step down step lightning.

Step down step lightning to earth.
Feel the world move under your lover.
Love the thunder, embrace it, name it.
Flames from fingers fly.
