This is going to be a really depressing documentary…
Eh? “Never been captured on film before” makes him sound like somebody who’s never even seen a camera. The Pogues made a few music videos and even appeared on Saturday Night Live in 1990.
This program was damn good. I feel pity for anyone who missed it. It didn’t succeed too well as a documentary due to the lackluster interviews, but more than made up for it with tons of footage and clips I had never seen before.
Damn! I don’t have Sundance. (And I missed this thread anyway.)
Thanks for posting the CNN link. I don’t get Sundance either, but am a Pogues fan. Still kicking myself for missing a concert years ago.
This book was pretty good. He had a lot of interesting things to say on pretty much everything under the sun. Still seemed a bit nuts though and I suppose it’s easier to concentrate on what he’s saying if you don’t have to look at him.
But I’ll forgive a man a hell of a lot if he’s made albums like “Rum, Sodomy and the lash”.
