Point Me To A List Of Gruesome Martyr Deaths?

I was trying to come up with a bunch of examples of gruesome martyr modes of death (and their traditional representation in art and icons) – I could think of St. Sebastian pierced with arrows, and St. Agatha bearing her chopped-off breasts on a platter – but I couldn’t find any master list of the more gruesome lurid martyr deaths. Anyone aware of a compilation, website, book pulling these all together?

Here’s a list:

For a book, I would highly recommend Saints Preserve Us! : Everything You Need to Know About Every Saint You’ll Ever Need, by Sean Kelly and Rosemary Rogers. While it includes many non-martyrs, it does provide details on the more excruciating martyrdoms as well.

Check out Jacob of Voragine’s Golden Legend. The Golden Legend has been widely influential in the west since the thirteenth century.

For an earlier account of martyrdom, you must read the Passion of Perpetua, available in many English translations. It is one of the finest accounts of martyrdom in the Christian tradition.
