Great. Now all you need to do is give a cite of the phrase’s ever having incited one of these things against white people, and I’ll agree that “white trash” might possibly fall under UNC Law School’s definition of hate speech, once we acknowledge that they don’t consider a website called “All men must die!” to fall under that definition.
For pity’s sake–what do you THINK I’m basing it on? You won’t win the argument by saying, “nyah nyah–you didn’t use enough qualifiers!” I’m basing it, of course, on the many people whom I’ve observed using the phrase in real life and on the Internet.
