This thread has jumped the shark.
I’m not calling for anyone’s head on a pike, but from my perch, Marley’s actions definitely seemed fishy.
I discussed this a bit with the other MPSIMS mods, and we don’t see any reason to change the policy as it currently exists: some stuff is just too pointless. For my part I think I’ll let some of the stream of consciousness type threads continue, since those are sometimes actually creative. Threads like the one in the OP are still going to get locked, though. Song and movie quote threads go in Cafe Society and should be titled as such. We already allow that. If your goal is to make all non-fans go “Huh??” I think you’re out of luck. 
Am I to understand that the pointlessness of our pointless threads should approach, but not reach the point of absolute pointlessness, like a limit equation that never quite reaches the limit?
So, from the point of view of us posters, it’s just pot luck as to whether it’ll be allowed? Basically, try it and see?
It’s probably not perfect but I think I’ve laid out a guideline here, and it’s not that different from what already exists. If people have something to say and it happens to be barely comprehensible, I think I’ll leave that alone. Stuff that already gets closed for pointlessness, like these quote threads that really belong in another forum, are still going to get locked.
