A rattlesnake round-up is an annual event in some areas of Alabama, Texas, and other Southern states. For a weekend (usually), people go into the surrounding areas and catch as many rattlesnakes as they can. The snakes are all brought to a central area (usually someplace like a fairgrounds) and dumped into a large pit or enclosure. There are prizes for the biggest rattlesnake, largest number of buttons on the rattle, biggest redneck, etc.
Mating is pretty straightforward. Watching the teenage snakes try to put on condoms will make you sad, though.
