Pokemon Black and White

Well, again, credit where credit is due. Bricker Jr was my inspiration and tutor.

I’m disappointed that they only have 3v3 battles, although it worked out for me tonight because it would just be a matter of time before you ko’d my whole team.

You had a lot better strategy than I did. You Baton Pass was killer.

That Baton Pass startegy actually works better for my son in Platinum, because he gives Ninjask a Liechi Berry, and then repeatedly Substitutes and Protects until the berry activates, so he passes not only a huge speed plus, but also a +1 Attack, to the receiving Pokemon. That combined with Breloom’s Focus Punch gives him a one-hit kill on pretty much anything that doesn’t resist fighting moves. It’s deadly. (And he’s EV trained his Ninjask so that he can Sub four times!)

The only way I have found to beat it is to have a sleep absorber plus someone with a priority move that’s supereffective against Breloom. I’ve beaten that combo when he used it with this team:

Snorlax (Rest, Sleep Talk, Fire Punch, Ice Punch) w/ Chesto Berry
Abomosnow (Wood Hammer, Leech Seed, Toxic, Rock Slide)
Walrein w/ Ice Body (Protect, Substitute, Ice Shard, Blizzard) w/ Leftovers

Lead off w/ Abomosnow to get hail going, then swap out Snorlax to face the Spore-crazy Breloom. Snorlax takes the first Spore and wakes up immediately thanks to its berry, and if it gets subsequent sleeps it uses Sleep Talk for a fifty percent chance of a super-effective move. Once Breloom is gone, Walrein goes in and Toxics the opponent, then switches between Protect and Substitute. Each turn, he heals 1/16 HP via Leftovers and 1/16 HP via Ice Body, for a total each turn of 1/8 HP. Two turns and he’s healed 1/4 HP, which is just what Substitute takes. So basically he can sit there until he runs out of PP, poisoning his opponent and then waiting for them to die. (NOte that Breloom is immune to this because of his Poison Heal).

The weekend approacheth. Anyone for a battle?
