Bumping this thread to let everyone know that you can get a shiny Entei pokemon at gamestop stores from yesterday until the 23rd of January.
Indeed. They already did Shiny Raikou; Starting on the 31st, Shiny Suicune will be available. and in the week before Black and White are released, there are rumors that Celebi will be available!
Less than 30 Pokemon left to fill out my Pokedex in Platinum…
Yes, I think Celebi is available from Feb 27 to March 7. The Raikou, Entei and Suicune are supposed to unlock another legendery when transferred to Black and White.
Meanwhile, my copy of Diamond is completely missing - I think it was stolen. I had to start over in SoulSilver.
At least I can look forward to White coming out a week before PAX East. 
Bricker Jr reports: yes, trading any of the three shiny legendary beasts into Black or White unlocks an event at the Lost Forest that allows you to capture Zoroark, the Illusion Fox Pokemon. There is only one of these per game.
Bricker Jr also lost his copy of Diamond. This was bad, because his starter, a Torterra, was very carefully trained up and had great IV’s to start. He must have had better than 400 hours of gameplay invested; all lost when the game was gone.
In the IT world, we mitigate that kind of risk by doing data backups.
So for his Platinum game and his HeartGold game, I’ve been using a device to copy his save files periodically to my computer. If he loses his game cart again, he won’t lose everything.
Yeah, I’m aware of the copy devices but I haven’t sprung for one yet. I probably should.
I’m very glad I did. My son is a brave trooper kinda kid, but when he realized he had lost his game, he was inconsolate for a good little while. Apparently it takes quite a bit of effort to do EV training, especially if you don’t have a “Poke Virus,” which his new game did not.
If you missed the Gamestop distribution of the Shiny Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, you can still get them via Wifi. This is another European distribution that works in North America with North American copies of the games.
Raikou is done, but Entei is available through today (Sunday 2/20) and Suicune becomes available tomorrow (Monday 2/21).
I found this out yesterday at the Black and White mall tour. While we were downloading the Celebi, my youngest discovered he hadn’t saved Entei or Suicune in Soul Silver (he had them in Pearl and Platinum). Our guess is he deleted the Wonder Cards before he picked up the pokemon at the PokeMart. Pearl prevents you from doing this, but experiments show Soul Silver does not.
The Celebi unlocks an area in Heart Gold/Soul Silver which gives some Team Rocket backstory in the cutscenes. It will also unlock Zorua in Black & White.
The Black and White demo is short, about 5 minutes to play through. You get to battle 2 rivals, one wild pokemon (no pokeballs in your bag so you can’t catch anything), and come face to face with Zekrom or Rashiram in a cut scene. You get to see Zorua in action as it’s part of your party.
Sweet. I was worried the Gamestop distro for Celebi had started earlier than I expected, but I see the mall tour one is actually distinct from the Gamestop one. The Gamestop one starts today, and runs through the release of B&W.
