I just read an article about the Philly police beating. One man was quoted as saying that the Philly beating did not rank with the Rodney King beating because in the King beating billy clubs were used. However, the men did surround the man and kick him repeatedly, which can’t be that much better. At what point is does using force become excessive. Personally, I think if you steal an officer’s gun, steal a car, and bite an officer, you should be 100% prepared to get the living crap kicked out of you with any weapons available to police at the time. Yet, the law states police cannot use excessive force, and oddly enough, leaves it undefined. I mean, a man is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, right?
