I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ve read articles in the past about incidents where to police produced child porn so they could use it in “sting” operations. Rather similar in nature to how they’ll sell teens drugs, get them addicted, and use the addiction, threat of prosecution for drug use or both to get the teen to cooperate in potentially fatal undercover work.

As a rule, cops are scum. Just a better organized gang with a nicer uniform and more resources.

My guess is that the girl denied any involvement when her mother found out. If the boy still has her pictures on his phone, it might help his defense.

The case was set for trial on July 1, where Foster said Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Claiborne Richardson told her that her client must either plead guilty or police would obtain another search warrant “for pictures of his erect penis,” for comparison to the evidence from the teen’s cell phone. Foster asked how that would be accomplished and was told that “we just take him down to the hospital, give him a shot and then take the pictures that we need.”

Have area hospitals been asked if this is something they actually do? I suspect the answer is no, but if it’s yes, then that’s where the most serious questions need to be directed.

If I were the judge, I’d make it simple. Ask the girl if she sent pictures of herself, ask if she was offended by the response. Ask the boy, if that’s him (or part of him) in the video. He says yes, fine. $200 fine and no more sexting for the both of ya. Hell, they could’ve gotten married in VA at 12 or near that.
