Usually the function of the government is to convince the masses that everything is A-OK. But lately there has been a disturbing amount of chicken-little-ish candor coming from DC way.
We’ve got the FBI telling us that middle-east style suicide bombers are almost inevitiable, Cheney saying that another attack is probably going to happen, and today there was a news blurb on Yahoo reporting the Rumsfeld is telling some senators that terrorists will eventually get their hands on nukes.
The powers that be seem to be going out of their way to worry the common man. Why?
Is it because the threat is really that great? Are they bucking for more money to be spent on defense/homeland security?
