Poll: are you an exclusive cell phone user?

  1. Don’t own a cel phone
  2. Yes (but not a swing state)

1)Yes
2)No

  1. Yes
  2. Absolutely yes.
  1. Yes
  2. Yes

when I got my own place, I saw absolutely no reason to get a landline. Over a year later, I don’t regret it one bit.

Just FYI, use of those devices is illegal in the United States.

from here.

Keep in mind that while there are people in the audience who are using their cells in an inappropriate manner, there may be many more who are not, and who may in fact need their cells to be operational. There may be medical personnel or off-duty police officers on call who need their phones to work. There may be people like me who have their phones on silent but may need be contacted by text message for an emergency. If you have a problem with an audience member, you may take the old route of telling an usher, rather than to inconvenience an entire room full of people with an illegal device.

To answer:

  1. Yes, my family has three cell phones and no landline. Internet comes over cable.
  2. Yes, I’m voting, and yes, I’m in the swing state.

Yes & Yes

  1. Yes, the bf and I gave up our landline last year.
  2. Yes, American, planning to vote, and significantly over 30 (43).
  1. Yes - both hubby and I have our own cellphones. No landline in at least 2 yrs (I think). Thanks to cable DSL as well. Never answer unknowns. Don’t usually even answer numbers I don’t recognize. If you’re not in my phone book, leave a message. I may/may not call you back.

  2. Yes/Absolutely yes - in a swing state, too. However, I’m not typically even interested in participating in a political poll. And, no, I don’t believe they’re all that representative either.

Yes and yes

Oh yeah, I’ll be 34 in a few weeks. Hubby will be 38 (wow!) in a few months.

It’s funny, we were just discussing recently about how weird it is that we know very few people who are strictly cellphone only. I get strange reactions when I tell people that we are. As if they wonder, “How can you possibly manage?” When we first went landlineless, even my cellphone provider didn’t get it. “Uh, yeah my cellphone is my primary contact number. It’s my only number. Aren’t you proud of me?”

  1. Yes

  2. Yes (in the VERY crucial center of Ohio)

Over 30…cell only for 3 years.

1) Are you an exclusive cell phone user?
No. I have a cell phone that I carry with me faithfully, but I get no bars in the house. If I ever have wireless coverage that gives me several bars no matter where I am in the house, I will seriously consider going landline-less.

2) Are you from the US and planning to vote?
Yes, and yes (in Virginia; I plan to vote for Kerry).

Age: 33
