I have no hip problems, it’s more comfortable than ankle-on-knee (when I’m able to do it), and I know plenty of women my age (40) who sit knee-over-knee all of the time and have never had a problem with it…
I’ve created a thread to test my fatness theory
Crossed at ankle is my standard way. I used to do your position (2) when I was younger, but somehow it isn’t comfortable anymore.
Female, straight.
I don’t get how other guys sit with their legs crossed knee-over-knee. Doesn’t their junk get crushed? All I know is it is extremely painful for me to even attempt it, let alone choose that as a comfortable sitting posture.
Apparently you missed my explanation for it in post #30:
Good one! As someone who wears boxers, I would have to grab my junk and pull it up out of the way just to cross my legs and sit down. Maybe you have no such trepidations about grabbing your crotch in polite company, but to me that seems a bit much to go through just to have a seat. Even with such contortions, I still find the end result not very comfortable.
When I (female) sit in a chair, I like to sit with my ankle on my knee (and I’m only a little overweight :p). When I sit on the floor, I like to sit in half-lotus position.
And I’ve been scolded for doing both. I’ve been told I sit like a man when I sit in a chair, and when I worked with kids they could not get over how I sat on the floor, like it was some sort of freak position. It’s not – I’m way more comfortable like that than sitting “criss cross applesauce” like they do.
