Poll: Guns and Abortion

[hijack]
Not to be a pedant, but a D&C (dilation and curettage - I had to look it up) is also done for reasons other than abortion, specifically things like finding the cause of uterine bleeding or treating it, or diagnosis of uterine fibroids, endometriosis, or uterine or cervical cancer. Just trying to prevent any misconceptions about women who’ve had a D&C.

Another in the small camp of B and A folks.

C & C

Count me in the B & A camp.

I’m Pro-Choice, so C & C.

Actually I think there should be fewer restrictions on guns, as nearly all guns are not used illegally last time I crunched the numbers.

And I think the government should pay for abortions for those women who choose to have them but cannot afford them.

Predictably, I join Bob Cos and beagledave in the B&A camp.

You’re right, DeniseV. Thanks for the correction.

Double D

It’s not my body, so knock yourself out (or down I guess).

I’m a law abiding (at least the important ones) citizen, keep your grubby hands off my guns.

No, fetuses need to be armed so they can defend themselves against abortionists. Next time an abortionist gets shot, the fundies can say it was self defense!

On the subject of GUNS, do you support:

B - New regulations which are significant but which fall well short of a ban, such as universal regisration or ballistic fingerprinting. NOTE: As long as the right to own one is not infringed as a result, i.e., no restrictions on WHO is allowed to buy and register a firearm aside from those already in existence. And nothing that imposes unproven and possibly expensive or error-prone hardware requirements on firearms manufacturers.

On the subject of ABORTION, do you support:
C - No further restrictions. **NOTE: And the removal of several existing restrictions, AND some laws guaranteeing the availability of abortion services (universal coverage by insurance, including Medicaid, all OB/GYNs required to learn the procedures in order to practice, all hospitals receiving Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement required to provide it or establish a local liaison to refer out for same). **

C & A

D and D, too. I fail to see how a pile of gun laws will stop someone who will already choose to break the law, and I also fail to see how abortion can hurt someone else (avoiding the semantic argument of whether or not a fetus is a “person” or a “thing”).

B and C, here.
And it makes me feel good to see so many C’s (and D’s) to the second question. It can be soo frustrating living surrounded by closed-minded conservatives. (not that all conservatives are closed-minded, but the ones I keep being confronted by are). Darn small-town Pennsylvania…

AC

Well.

That didn’t take long, did it?

except you left off this part, beagledave.

Double B for me.

C & C

There sould be no restrictions on either. Let alone more.
