POLL: How you think of "Emotions"

It’s not just intensity and mixtures, though. There are other qualities that can change, like an energetic happiness vs. a calm happiness. Both can be just as intense, but they feel very different. But I wouldn’t call calmness and energetic emotions on their own, so they aren’t mixtures.

I’d also argue that a moral component can change how emotions feel. Schadenfreude feels different than simply being happy something happened–which is itself different than just feeling happy in general. That’s another diffference: there are emotions that hang out by themselves and they feel different than the ones that are directed toward a specific thing.

And how would you break down love? I mean, it’s not only an emotion, but it is an emotion. And it’s not a primary emotion, as it clearly contains others. But, at the same time, it’s also kinda its own thing. It also can kinda very on what it feels like.

Nah, emotions are extremely wide and varied. Limiting them always involves compromises at the edges.
