Poll: Ice cube on the floor.

A. I figure if you take a few seconds, the dirty outside will melt away leaving a pristine cube.

I guess I’m the only one that puts it in the plant, then? We have this hanging plant in the kitchen that’s hard to water, so I put ice cubes in it when I remember. Floor cubes always go in the hanging plant.

Dropped ice goes in the sink/trash can.

For all you bad backs… what about squatting? You shouldn’t be bending anyway, really.

I’ll kick a floor cube over to a non-hardwood patch of floor to melt and evaporate. Sometimes I’ll try to pick it up with my toes and toss it in the trash.

Rinsing off an ice cube has NEVER even crossed my mind. It’s an ice cube. By rinsing it off I’m effectively accelerating its demise and rendering it half as useful. Not to mention I’ve never been so low on ice that one cube will make or break a drink.

I throw it in the sink/kick it under the fridge almost equally. If I’m feeling tidy I’ll pick it up and toss it; if I’m feeling lazy it goes under the fridge. Linoleum is not going to be harmed by an ice cube.

I’m genuinely surprised that anyone has ever rinsed off an ice cube and used it. I’m almost…mind-boggled…

C. Two points if I get it right into the disposal!

C. Pick it up and toss it in the sink to melt.

B. We don’t have an icemaker here (rented apartment in Japan), much to my irritation, and we use a lot of ice. The cubes are precious, and get rinsed.

wood floors, so C. Plus, all kinds of dog and cat hair on the floor, so no way I’m doing A

Happened yesterday when the icetray fell out of the freezer, and C, but if I had have been preparing myself a cold drink at the time, probably B.

C…

Toss it in the sink or give it to the dog. I don’t recall ever doing any of the others.

A if the floor is clean (which is rare), C otherwise. It’s two flecks of dust; it ain’t hurtin’ no one.

Underhanded, into the garbage disposal, nothing but rubber.

I was reading the posts to my Mom. She said :

I would boil the ice cube. Only way to get the germs off.

What? :stuck_out_tongue:

If I can find it I either toss it in the sink or in the dog’s water dish. I don’t spend a whole lot of time looking for it though because the dogs will take care of it if I don’t.

another vote for F

If it lands near my feet, which nearly never happens, it’ll go in the sink or out the door if it’s open.

If it requires searching - pretty much always - it stays where it is. I’ve been yelled at about this before.

This is very funny. My teenage son got my wife some ice for an achy knee late last night. This AM I was the first one up and saw a small puddle in front of the refrigerator. I stared real hard at the ceiling looking for the source of the leak. Then (thanks to having read this thread) it hit me…

Wow, I’m appalled at how few others would do as I would, which is to say “meh,” and toss it into my glass.

I’m an “A.”

G. Pick it up with my foot and flick it into the sink.

I have very long, flexible toes.
