Poll: were you bald or did you have hair when you were born?

-at birth I was totally bald and didn’t start growing hair until I was about 6 months old (at which time, it started growing in very light blond)

-now I’ve got a full head of hair that is relatively thick. It is now slightly darker but still most definately blonde.

I was born with tons of black hair that quickly fell out and the new hair came in blonde. I was blonde until I was about 8 then my hair turned dark brown, I suppose it’s still that color under the layers of dye. My son was born with tons of blonde ringlets and he now has dark blonde hair. My daughter was born bald, she didn’t get hair until she was about 2 and then it came in red. Now she’s a reddish blonde. My husband who is very red headed was born bald. There are several pictures of him the day he was born and you can tell two things, one he has no hair and two - he’s pissed about it.

Had lots and lots of black hair at birth, enough to put up with a little bow. Around 2 it turned blonde, at 16 it was medium brown with auburn highlights, and since then it has become progressively darker. Currently dark, dark brown with silver coming in at the top. However, I keep it dyed “Chocolate Cherry”.

Born with a full head of thick black hair. It has stayed really thick throughout. As for the colour, it turned into reddish brown with natural ringlets by the time I was 2, then unfortunately went to a mousy brown and really frizzy when I was around 7 or 8. In my teens the reddish highlights came back and it has gone really wavy instead of frizzy (most of the time at least), which is how it is now, plus a few white hairs starting to come in at the top. Now I’m just hoping I won’t be like some members of my extended family who’ve been completely gray before they turned 40.

Born with black hair that fell out in a few weeks, then bald for nearly a year and a half (what hair I did have was really pale). I had light brown hair with reddish hints to it till I was about 4, then it was just a medium brown. It’s now naturally a medium/dark ash brown with red-gold highlights.

I was born with curly black hair, but by the time I was four or so, it had faded to dark brown and grew pin straight. When I was a teenager, it seemed to get sort of reddish-brown, but now it’s (naturally) a dark mouse brown and has a bit of a wave to it.

My brother was born bald and then had curly blonde hair until he was about 10. After that time, his hair slowly darkened to black.

I was frequently likened to a cueball. It is now blonde and fine. And straight. Any traders out there?

I was born with a full head of black hair, about an inch and a half long, all spiked and punky. It changed to light brown as a kid. Now, it’s again about an inch and a half long, black, and spiky again. (only due to miss clairol…i went grey YOUNG.)

I was born with a good head of black hair.

When I was maybe 6 months old, it all fell out and grew in a really light blond.

As I’ve aged, my hair has darkened. Now (at 23) I’d say that it’s a light blond.

FWIW, my half-brother was born with black hair, and his all fell out and grew in brown.

err, I’d say my hair is a light brown

I was born with thick black hair as were both brothers and all of my children. It promptly fell out within the first two weeks of all of our wee little heads.

My hair did not return until I was somewhere around 6 months old and I was a toehead (very white blonde) until I was around three when I changeed to a strawberry blonde and then to a redhead by the time I was around six. It finally darkened to it’s present auburn when I reached puberty.

Born bald, started out blonde and what’s left of my hair is now sandy-brown.

From dust we come and to dust we go.

My ancestry is western europe polyglot.

Born with a fairly full head of red hair, still have a full head of red hair at 40.

elfkin, I may be able to disrupt your belief about redheads.

I was born with no hair on my head. Eventually I grew some fuzz. I had nothing but fuzz until I was four years old, at which point, my strawberry blond curls began to grow.

My hair is still strawberry blond, and has gone through varying degrees of red and blond throughout my 25 years, although it is more red than blond now. It is still very fine and thin.

I was born with a bald head but i did have pubic hair, a goatee, and full set of yellow teeth, clenching a cigar.

I was born with a thick head of black hair. Apparently it large amounts fell out when my mum first bathed me, much to her horror. It grew back though

I was slick as an onion till around two…I still don’t have a whole lot now. When I finally got some, it was white. Since that time, it has went brown, to blonde, to brown, and back to blonde. At the moment, I have no clue what color my hair is. Some days, its blonde, and other times its brown, and lately it has developed a slightly reddish tint. Does anyone else’s hair “change” colors?

When I was born, I had an inch and a half of curly black hair.

Now I have about three inches of curly black hair. It’s a lot thinner than it was when I was little, though (thyroid problem).

My hair’s always been black, except for the time I got it highlighted, but I use to have two red hairs. Now I have two gray hairs.

Just think…I can tell everyone I got my first gray hair at 19.

I was completely bald at birth.

When I did get hair it was blonde when I hit puberty it went ash blonde and continued to darken through to after my kids were born until I am a light plain brown.

Natural hair color is browish.
