It finally stopped happening, but I swear the first thing I thought of was “bacon, lettuce and tomato.” Then I thought, “No, not tomato. This is the Black Lives Matter one.”
You were probably thinking of “bacon, lettuce and millet”.
Similar to one friend’s mother, who thought TCBY stood for, “Thank God It’s Yogurt.”
Black lives matter. I was talking with a friend, who is a retired park ranger and he mentioned a friend who works at BLM and it took me a while to realize he meant Land Management.
Your friend’s mother must have had a very vague relationship with the alphabet. Are you sure that she didn’t think it meant “this can’t be yogurt”, the nickbame for this chain?
According to your link, that was the original name.
Prior to 1984, the company’s name was “This Can’t Be Yogurt,” but a lawsuit from a competitor, I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt!, forced TCBY to create a new name from its initials, eventually using “The Country’s Best Yogurt”
“This Can’t Be Yogurt” is the chain I meant. My friend’s mother always thought it was “Thank God It’s Yogurt,” and my friend gave up trying to correct her.
When I see SMH, which is shorthand for Shaking My Head, as in disbelief at stupidity, I see a local acronym instead, that of the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. I’m getting better at delineating, but it still trips me up sometimes.
I live where BLM land is in every direction for me to enjoy, so it will always be that initially unless context shows otherwise.
I live in the UK, we don’t have anything called Bureau of Land Management, so your poll isn’t really applicable to me, and I voted for the next most obvious one.
Former Arizona resident and hunter. BLM always defaults to bureau of land management, unless something in the sentence shows otherwise.
I am in the typsetting business and I’ve always used BLM as “bulleted list middle.” BLF is “bulleted list first” and BLL is “bulleted list last”

Current Arizona resident and a burner who plays in the Bureau’s backyard every August (except this year), ditto.
Raised in the US Southwest & lived there for another ~10 years since leaving there after college. BLM was Land Management for me up until just a few weeks ago when Black Lives Matter took over.
Which is considerably after when Black Lives Matter began dominating the headlines. Apparently I’m slow to update my memes.
I think there’s definitely a regional aspect to this. BLM defaults to Bureau of Land Management unless context indicates otherwise. I live where there is a LOT of BLM land.
I was discussing events with some friends and the Bundys came up.
There was a bit of confusion when I was talking about BLM and their first thought was Black Lives Matter.
Normal times I would default to the govt agency, but contemporary times, there is more talk about the activist movement, and so is more likely to be relevant.
Initially to me it is wide-open land that I can camp pretty freely. Which I’ve done in the past. So I voted for this.
I have to stop and think that today, it likely means Black Lives Matter. I’m typically not a protester but I participated in one BLM march about a month ago. It went well.

About grazing rights?
It’s hard to graze with masks on.
