If you look at the map from the OP link, though, Wyoming is dead center of the six states in Region VIII.
I was also trying to give somewhat amusing names to the regions. Sue me. The state list for each region is in the OP.
Amusing is fine. But I still don’t get Massaginia.
I posted upthread that I should have named it Pennsylginia.
Fair enough (although I will question what’s amusing about “southeast”). It wasn’t entirely clear you were going for amusing, though. Maybe you should have called Region VI “Greater Arkansas.” 
In any event, there is a perfectly cromulent name already for Region I: New England.
While I suppose “Maine-ish” is funnier, you have to realize that as far as the rest of New England is concerned, Maine (especially the rural areas) is like our Cousin Eddie. 
Fair, but I probably would have kept the goofy theme and gone with Nwingland.
