I totally love(d) the band Polvo - at least up to their last album “Shapes” which I thought was mostly quite boring and well below their standards. I think this band was/is so completely underrated.
My question is does anybody have anything to tell about what these dudes are now up to? I haven’t been able to find anything with any of my trademark half-assed attempts at internet trawling.
Also, I would appreciate general ranting about Polvo from fellow fans, esp live show anecdotes as they never toured Australia.
My favorite album was “Celebrate the New Dark Age”.
I saw them twice, once ~ 1994 with Don Caballero and then again ~ 1997 with Thinking Fellers Union Local 282.
The show with DonCab was very cool, they sounded great. The 1997 tour (I think that was the tour for the “Shapes” album) was really bad. They couldn’t stay tuned and were breaking strings left and right. They stumbled through about 6 songs and finally just said F-it and quit.
Agree that they were a terribly underrated band.

Bassist Steve Popson is invlolved/opened/partially owns with a bar/arcade/live music joint called King’s Barcade in Raleigh, NC.
Singer/Guitarist Ash Bowie played with Helium on at least one of their albums and looks like he has a new-ish thing going now called Libraness.
I wasn’t able to find anything new on drummer Eddie.
Wow, a reply (one more than I was expecting). Was vaguely aware of Helium and Libraness but not Idyll Swords. Thanks, dude. Must remember to pick up Libraness album.
