I want him to either address my questions point in a point-by-point manner as he said he would in my thread about the internal inconsistencies of his belief system or just admit where he can’t answer them. I’d also like him to stop his double talk, which pretty much led to said inconsistencies.
The man has 349 posts, and the only thing one associates with him is pitting Polycarp. Couldn’t that be construed as posting solely to complain about another poster?
Since badchad has not actually followed Polycarp in any of the dozens of previous threads on the subject of the mission and resurrection of Jesus, he might have been forgiven for failing to notice that Poly is a bit heterodox (compared to traditional Christian expression) on a few related issues. (Hint for those interested: search GD (and maybe some other Fora) for “spong” with username “polycarp.”) On the other hand, having demonstrated that he really just does not understand Poly on any level, our corrupted ballot poster finds he can only froth at the mouth and hurl imprecations at his betters.
i don’t really see a contradiction there. Poly said the kid could be a force for social change, even a prophet, but that he was not making a case for the kid as a mystical “saviour.”
I also think your misreading his use of capital H’s. In the preamble to the first post, Poly was using the capital H in refernce to God and claiming that “He” (as in God) would “make Himself known.” When it came time to describe the kid, Poly switched to lower case h’s. So basically, Poly was saying that “He” would make Himself known through “him.”
If you parse the whole statement, you’ll find that this reading works. I also don’t see that Poly made any explicit claim that this kid was Jesus. That was read into it by everybody else. Poly clarified. He was talking about a prophet, a vehicle of God, not a literal second coming of Christ.
ou can argue with the plausibility or the sanity of these speculations all you want but I don’t see that he’s a liar.
