Poor Tom Cruise! Fired by Paramount!

I just had a horrible thought…

Cruise-Gibson Entertainment, Inc.

Those would sure be some interesting religious discussions.

Much much worse.

Stepford was Sunsent Blvd compared to Suspect Zero.

I suspect that this has much more to do with Brad Grey than anything else. War of the Worlds came out at the height of the Tom bashing and it did pretty well.

I smell Oscar!

There have been rumors for years that he’s not quite hetero, but he’s sued the pants off of everyone who hinted at such a thing. Then right after word got out that someone was writing a book that would blow the cover off of his very private life, he suddenly showed up in Rome with Katie Holmes, after she went missing for over two weeks- suddenly they’re “madly in love”. That was the beginning, and since then… oh, man, too much to summorize easily…
This site gives the timeline starting with the Rome thing- most recent articles first, so if you scroll all the way down and work your way up it’s a chronological record of his descent into crazy. And this site gives some highlights.

Types of role? Oh, please. IMHO, he’s only been in one type of role his entire career.

Wow. I consider this to be a really good movie. I loved it. Ben Kingsley, right? Is that the one I’m thinking of?

Stars are flash and glitz…actors are craftsmen. Paris Hilton is a star of sorts…but she ain’t no actress, despite her efforts to convince us of that in House of Wax.

According to this (see the fourth paragraph of the article), the studio is making bugger-all money from Cruise/Wagner’s films, while Cruise and Wagner are romping it home!

But just look at that picture - the guy is old, wrinkled and ugly, not to mention a complete jack-off!

Oh, this is good:

Yeah, honey. He isn’t THEIR asset anymore and they are taking out the ballpeen hammer and putting a few dents in him before he hits the street to lower his value to their competition.

Between this and the Lohan letter it seems like producers are getting a little tired of movie stars who take all the profits AND treat the rest of the cast and crew like shit.

'Bout time. Hope it continues.

Okay, there’s an “Odd Couple” joke, here.

Suspect Zero is really, really, really bad, so you must be thinking of the other movie where Ben Kingsley played a serial killer who hunted serial killers and who was tracked down by Aaron Eckhart and Carrie-Anne Moss by psychic means from the director of Shadow of a Vampire titled Suspect Zero. Must be. :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought it was going to be a picture of Sumner Redstone. The best thing to come out of this was Jon Stewart: In the interest of full disclosure, Viacom is the parent company of Comedy Central. Also in the interest of full disclosure, Sumner Redstone is my father. Thanks for the show, Dad!

Dammit! I had forgotton all about it until now. :smack:

They are trying to blame the failure of M:I:III on his jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch, confronting Matt Lauer about psychotropic drugs, spouting Scientology, etc., rather than on the fact that it wasn’t really very good.

Now I’m going to have to watch it again. Damn it!

Please don’t encourage the bad actors.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone return with 2 live action films: THE ALL-AMERICAN and GIANT MONSTERS ATTACK JAPAN

To each their own, but it sure didn’t make any money at the box office. Neither did Elizabethtown, or Narc, or Ask the Dust. (another Cruise/Wagner production that Paramount released for them)

Movies that Tom produces that don’t have him in it, don’t do too well.

Are you thinking about Sexy Beast, Kalhoun?

And here’s a Washington Post article about this.

I doubt I’ll ever see another Tom Cruise film because I don’t want to support his egocentric, eccentric behavior. So I do believe his behavior was a contributor to the low ratings.
