It sounds awfully dismissive of Pop Culture. Heck, I like a lot of Pop Culture. I think that an awful lot of haute couture is just as ephemeral and trivial. It just has more powerful patrons.
There’s a website by that name which took its name from a band that took its name “from a quotation in an NME article about band Jamie Wednesday,” which I won’t pretend to understand.
