Pop the Top.

It seems like Coke, Pepsi, and all the candy bars are always having some kind of a contest to win a million dollars, or a new car, or something great. The best I’ve ever done is win a 20oz. sprite. :frowning: How come we never hear of anyone winning? I’m sure someone in America has had to have won atleast once. Unfortuantly the odds of winning aren’t posted on the 2 liter I have next to me, but I’m sure I have a better chance of being struck by lightening.

If we have a game show based on giving away a million dollars, wouldn’t some shmo who’s lucky enough to “pop the right top” make headlines in the newspaper somewhere? How can companies afford to throw away a cool million like it was nothing? How legal is it if nobody ever wins, or if the odds of winning are next to nothing?

If I wanted to sell my own product and offered ten million dollars to the person who had the SKU #009342125B, and had green eyes, had B- blood type, was over the age of 18 but under 21, was born when all the planets were in line, and who had a birth mark on their left pinky, would that still be a legal marketing ploy?
