Pop with no ice?

Do you want to know why I order my pop with no ice? No, it’s not so I can get an extra $0.002 worth of pop, it’s because I’m diabetic. As a diabetic, on the newest type of insulin, the only thing that messes me up is pop. So when I order it (and usually with a salad from Wendy’s…) I don’t want to worry about whether they forgot it was diet or not. One would think you can taste the difference, which is true, in most cases. But not liking Pepsi much, when I get Pepsi instead of Coke, it tastes sweeter to me. So I say all that to say that when you can’t remember not to take the ice out, how am I suppose to trust you to remember to make it diet? And when I send it back, it’s not so you can scoop all the ice out, it’s so you can get it right the second time around.

Thanks for my rant.

You’re welcome.

A friend of mine always orders pop without ice since the melted ice dilutes his drinks too much for him to enjoy the taste. People have various reasons for opting no ice in their drinks, so your reason is perfectly valid. As for me, I gotta have my ice! I like to crunch it all when I’m done with the drink.

My wife orders it with no ice because she grew up in Mexico where you can’t drink the water, and the ice might be made out of the water.
But I think also she doesn’t like ice because she doesn’t like things to be too cold, and cause she likes alot of fizz in her drinks, and I’ve also heard her say she likes that she gets more drink that way too.

I think it’s just habit.

I too like to chew it. If I refill my own pop, I’ll put ice in it. But when others do it, then I opt for no ice, to see how much attention they pay to what I’m saying.

Ice is awful! All coming up at you when you take a drink and coldly attacking your face…

Ice just makes it too cold for me, and hurts my teeth.

I always order with no ice. A friend of mine used to work for a company that repaired the ice machines in restaraunts. He would take pictures of these things inside with molds and odd fungi growing in the area near or where the ice was made. Sick stuff, no ice for me.
