Popeye's biscuits

Go ahead, type that into a search engine and see how many recipes turn up. I’ve tried several permutations, all of which have the flavor but none of which have the “fluffiness”.

And, yes, honey–I know your/your mom’s/your gramma’s are the best biscuits EVER (and I know this cos I’ve tried them all and they all kick ass), but what I really want is a recipe for Popeye’s biscuits.

Help out a Yankee, folks, won’t you? Please?

Have you tried putting a whole can of Crisco in there? - 'cuz that’s what they taste like. Mmmmm…grease-a-licious.

I have no recipe, but none is needed. Not when I can buy Pillosbury Home Baked Classics[SUP]TM[/SUP] buttermilk buscuits. They’re in bags in the frozen food section at the supermarket.

Seriously, these are the closest to Popeye’s I’ve tasted. The first time I ate one I thought they were from Popeye’s.

You must be forgetting to add spinach!

Sorry. Yeah, I love biscuits from popeye’s.

The recipe ones that I made were plenty fluffy, but they weren’t buttery/greasy enough. I think they must dip those things in the deep fat fryer to get them that way.

I’ve seen them making the biscuits before. I have no idea what’s in them but I do know that when they come out of the oven or bread baking thing and go into the keep warm box up near the counter, they brush buttery oil all over them. This is how they get so greasy. It’s the same as what Pizza Hut does with their breadsticks.

That’s just what I was going to say. They do it right there in front of customers, too, and it’s not like it’s a “secret.”
They drench those suckers in melted butter when they come out of the oven. I think that’s part of what makes them so good.

Have you tried www.topsecretrecipes.com ?
They might have it.
