Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes – I’ve Had the Time of My Life

Don Henley and Stevie Nicks - Leather and Lace

Ah! Your reference to Joe Cocker + Jennifer Warnes fooled me. I thought you skipped the Dirty Dancing song “I’ve Had the Time of My Life”.

Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes sang together on the theme to Officer and a Gentleman – “Up Where We Belong”.

More duets:

James Taylor and Carly Simon - “Mockingbird”
Olivia Newton-John and Cliff Richard - “Suddenly”
Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks - “Whenever I Call You ‘Friend’”

Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt: Don’t Know Much

Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville: “Don’t Know Much”

D’oh!

Since you’re doing one male-male duet, perhaps you could do something by Hall and Oates?

“Unforgettable”–Natalie Cole and her (late) father Nat King

Thom Yorke (Radiohead) and PJ Harvey, “This Mess We’re In”.

Please,Please,Please…Don’t Forget

“Muskrat Love”…The Captain and Tenille

I’m tearing up…a tissue please?

What? No-one has mentioned Don’t give up by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush yet?

When I read the OP title, one song/duet came to mind:

Baby It’s Cold Outside by Ray Charles and Betty Carter

The most amazing, sexiest give-and-take I have ever heard. Vinyl versions of this track melt when played.

Not the same type of music as the others listed, but pretty definitive when it comes to a duet…

Very old stuff but between the years 1950-54, Les Paul and Mary Ford had 16 top-ten hits. They had five top-ten hits within nine months: Tennessee Waltz, Mockin’ Bird Hill, How High the Moon ( #1 for nine weeks), The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise and Whispering. From August 1952 to March 1953 they had five more top-ten hits: My Baby’s Coming Home, Lady of Spain, Bye Bye Blues, I’m Sitting on Top of the World and Vaya Con Dios (#1 for 11 weeks). All the while, Les was pioneering multi-track recording and reinventing the electric guitar. Quite a run!

Endless Love by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross

What the heck? I’ve got some time to kill …

Peter Cetera & Amy Grant – “Next Time I Fall”
Johnny Mathis & Deniece Williams – “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late”
Barbara Streisand & Barry Gibb – “Guilty”
Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway – “The Closer I Get to You”, “Back Together Again”
Peter Cetera & Cher – “After All”
Gram Parsons & Emmylou Harris – “Love Hurts”, “In My Hour of Darkness”
Iggy Pop & Kate Pierson – “Candy”
Prince & Sheena Easton – “U Got the Look”
Sonny & Cher – “I’ve Got You Babe”, “The Beat Goes On”
Pet Shop Boys (Neil Tennant) with Dusty Springfield – “What Have I Done to Deserve This?”
Aretha Franklin & George Michael – “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me”

K.D. Lang did an absolutely fantastic duet with Roy Orbison on Crying.

Johnnie Cash and June Carter Cash singing Jackson. They did a lot of duets, but this was their best one.

Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson did a whole bunch of very successful duets.

No one has mentioned the most popular duet in history, Simon and Garfunkel?
