Pork Pie hat

In the Cleveland area we have Mike the Hatter. They have a website now so you could browse: http://www.mikethehatter.com/ I do know that they have a lot more available than what they offer on their website, you may have to call and ask for exactly what you desire.

Bah! You’re never going to do it without your Fez on.

Very nice! You could make it work. I think it would look fabulous with a little black dress.

I think costumey is good. I have one of these, and sometimes I wear it for no good reason. If I don’t have time to make a good Halloween costume, I always have that, and I found a nifty little hood that’s all black in front–I can see out, but it looks solid, so no one can see my face, and it’s incredibly creepy. I can’t even look at myself in the mirror.

I’m going to have to avoid this thread for a while. Too many hats! I’m an addict, I admit it. I love hats! For all of you other hat-lovers, if you’re in New Orleans, there’s a really fabulous hat shop in the French Quarter. It’ll cost ya–I don’t think there’s anything under $400, but these hats will transform you! Instant fabulosity.

Since you’re close, I think you should come down and browse Byrnie Utz Hats in downtown Seattle. They’ve got just about everything.

But at least now gratefully I know what porkpie hats are, from the links provided in this thread. I had thought they were hats with a low crown and a stingy brim.

I wore a top hat on my wedding day.

Not long ago I bought a suit at a place called Gallini (or Rocco)–they seem to be the same company. I noticed they had a number of fedoras on sale, and they looked like they were real fur felt instead of wool felt as you usually find these days. I imagine they were fairly expensive though I didn’t stop to ask.

Sweet Zombie Jesus! I just realised that that place is in my old neighbourhood! On the right side of the map, below the freeway, I lived on Clarington at Palms.

Hm. Been thinking. I haven’t been able to find any colours other than brown, black or grey. I think I’ll get a black one, even though it seems a bit ‘bluesy’ to me. Black ‘goes with everything’, I’ve heard. I think I’ll also pick up the Coconut one. Should look spiffy with an aloha shirt.

Got my hats. The Coconut Pork Pie looks good and fits well. The black one looks good but is too big. I’m ‘on the cusp’ between Medium and Large. Both hats are Large. I’m exchanging the black one for a Medium.

Wow, leather Pork Pie. Get some Adidas and you’re all set.

Be better if it were pig skin. :stuck_out_tongue:
