Don’t read the links if you want to avoid some nasty shit.
In fact you might want to not read any farther in that case.
Original thread.
Here’s the latest on the case.

It seems the 15 year old helped to bury her mother the next day, after driving around with the man that is accused of the murder. It seams the murder victim was alive in the trunk, while the daughter and the man shopped for equipment. They purchased a shovel and dealt with the body the next day. The 11 year old boy was tortured by Clerc, who is one of the women staying in the home. The details are in the article, so I won’t post it here. Nothing was wrong with the kidnapped two year old. These crimes are bad individually, and are hard to take in one sitting. I can’t read it all at once.

I feel sick. That poor boy.
Yes, that is a pretty disturbing story. But on a more positive note, I’m glad to see that newspaper is helping to raise funds to help those kids out. Hopefully they will get the help they need to recover from this ordeal.
Sounds like characters from a John D. McDonald novel.
They are in protective custody, so their lives are already better. The media isn’t being told anything that will allow them to track the kids and harass them.
All the Madison television crews were in Portage today, awaiting to see what charges are filed.
They are charging the man the two women and the 15 year old daughter with murder. Surprise the judge denied bail, because they’re all a flight risk. i hope more than the one lady gets charged for the boy’s torture, because the others knew about that.
Seriously? The Travis McGee books? Because I just started reading those (well, listening to the audiobooks) and this news story is pretty horrific, and I’m not sure I want to continue these books if stuff like that happens in them.
There are some really mean country Floridians as bad guys. There are murders and the abuse of women but nothing as bad as torturing the child or a child killing his/her parent.
Okay, that’s good to know. The one-and-a-half Travis McGee books I’ve read so far didn’t seem like they would include that kind of thing, but with detective/mysteries like this you never know what will crop up. I’ll keep listening, then. Thanks carnivorousplant. Sorry for the hijack, everybody.
The two that came to mind are Bright Orange for the Shroud and The Long Lavender Look.
The news just included this. The 15 year old daughter participated in the mother’s abuse prior to her death. She also participated in the torture of the boy.
A bit more has come up today. Only two are being denied bail. The whole group had an identity theft operation going on. The poor boy is such a sad tail. What do they mean by his hands are mummified? Dead? Tons of scar tissue?

Oh, how weird. I’m reading my first Travis McGee book, and it’s the Long Lavendar Look. So far the body count is only two, and not as gruesome as other stuff I’ve read…
“I don’t want to hurt no more”
That poor, poor child.
