I don’t know to call the opposite of a rant (a rave? anti-rant?), but one goes to the local Porter Paints.
We replaced our right side garage door, and it needs to be painted the same color as the left door. We moved into this (10 year old) house 3 years ago, and the former owner left some paint cans of trim, etc. Since the trim matches the garage doors (literally - not a euphemism), I took the can of unknown vintage down to Porter Paint so they could match the color and sell us a new can.
When I got there, they determined the paint was only about 4 years old, based on the lot number. They said “It still should be fine - do you want us to filter it?” “Sure!” They did so, and even put in an flow additive, put the mixture in a new can, and ran the can through the paint blender apparatus; then they only charged me $1.50 for the filter, instead of the $42 a new can would have cost me!
Now that’s good customer service! I was so impressed, I bought all the supplies I’ll need for the paint job from them on the spot.
Yay, Porter Paints of Florence, KY!
