Is there some scheme to reenact Spy Kids II in the Pits that I’m not aware of? You people ought to get out to the other boards more often.
dantheman, I meant Posers, specifically those claiming personal knowledge through life experience, that turns out to be pure bullshit. Like beefyman, claiming to be buzzing along the Autobahn in a BFV at an impossible speed, and using weapons that the Bradley doesn’t even carry. So far the posted links to threads are about people who simply fail to understand the implications of the facts and statistics presented to them.
I have a favorite one of those. It absolutely BOGGLES my mind that CnoteChris thinks banning cell phone calls in hospitals is bogus. He posted several links in support of his position, of which the most favorable of them (to his position) stated that cell phones interfered with medical devices 5% of the time, a risk he called “vanishingly small”.
Sparc, my sig says exactly what I want it to say. “The war on ignorance is the only one worth being a soldier in the army of, against.” I just thought the phraseology was ironically amusing, or perhaps even amusingly ironic, but I’m apparently wrong.

No offense taken, in fact it leads me to a hijack related to sigs. I cannot see my own sigs on my posts. When I created the sig, I switched sigs on. But since I never saw my sig in my posts, I assumed someting was broken, assumed no one else could see my sig either, and didn’t bother to pursue an explanation or fix. Even when you commented on my sig, I assumed you went to my profile and saw the sig there. Was my sig in fact visible in my OP? If so, is it normal that I can’t see it?
There’s also the truly unpleasant Lindsay, who vanished after this train wreck.
By the way, FORMERFENRIS is for real, so don’t pee him off. Guys like that are trained to play nice nice and then lower the boom. Even if they are asked not to play around here anymore. If FORMERFENRIS wanted to, all the moderators in the world couldn’t stop him from, well, you know what I mean. Don’t play with the man. Just some friendly advice.
How about that fellow who claimed to be a duelist, and to have participated in several duels that he could not, in honor, tell us about? He finally “resigned” from the board because we weren’t “honorable” enough, and hasn’t been heard from since, AFAIK. Can’t remember his name, so I can’t look for his posts.
I bet there is a gaggle of them in Comments on Cecil’s Columns and Comments on Staff Reports. Half the posters there i’ve never heard of before or since, and they seem to show up for on thread and then leave (in general)

Now we’re getting to the creme de la scum. I looked at some threads of Lindsay’s and the link to Screwtape, and truly they were major league fuckwads. I wonder if they are posting as some kind of wierd Andy-Kaufmann-like-performance-art thing?
Screwtape reads like a 12 year old with an exceptionally large vocabulary who’s overdosed on Robert Heinlein. Lindsay is more reminiscent of Josef Mengele, right down to a fascination with neurology.
